TRADITION & INNOVATION
Cerbaia is a family-run business dedicated to the production of wines from some of the best vineyards in Montalcino. His Brunello is the true expression of a unique and distinctive place.
In 1978, inspired by his passion for viticulture, the agronomist Fabio Pellegrini converted his family business in Montalcino to the cultivation of important vines. Although fully committed to a political career in international relations, he had the ability to see the potential of his land in the production of wines of great finesse and complexity.
The Cerbaia company, with its 12 hectares of land, 4.5 of which under the denomination of Brunello, is located on the hill of Montosoli, one of the most favorable terroirs for Sangiovese in Montalcino. The vineyards are located on the north side and produce a selected and limited quantity of grapes of the highest quality.
In 2014, moved by a passion for wine and a love for her native land, Elena, Fabio's daughter, abandoned a promising career in finance to devote herself to her family business.
His efforts aim to create elegant and perfectly balanced wines with the traditional style and with the same attention as his father carries on the production philosophy of making wine with minimal intervention, engaging in sustainable practices in his vineyards and products.
Today Cerbaia produces 18,000 bottles of Brunello a year, and its wines are the incredibly unique combination of a highly suited land, a traditional winemaking philosophy combined with the energy of a young winemaker. From the vineyards of the Cerbaia winery emerge wines that truly represent the authentic terroir of Montalcino.
